  • Anchorage Digital, a California-based crypto-friendly bank, is planning to lay off about 75 people, around a fifth of its staff, due to regulatory concerns and macroeconomic and market uncertainty.

  • The New York Department of Financial Services denied the claim that Signature Bank was shut down due to its involvement with cryptocurrencies, stating that it was not taken over for the purpose of sending an "anti-crypto message."

  • The U.S. government asked for a hold on Binance.US's $1 billion deal to buy assets of bankrupt crypto lender Voyager while legal objections are addressed.

  • Some banks including Santander, HSBC, Deutsche Bank, BankProv, Bridge Bank, Mercury, Multis and Series Financial are still open to working with crypto firms despite the failures of Silicon Valley Bank, Silvergate and Signature Bank.

  • Bankruptcy lawyers fighting over Sam Bankman-Fried's $465 million of Robinhood shares held in Emergent Fidelity Technologies are working on a deal to halt litigation until the FTX founder's criminal case is resolved, as it could interfere with his ongoing criminal case. 

  • Officials from the central bank and Treasury of Australia had discussions with international leaders in the cryptocurrency industry about the future of digital assets and regulations in the country.

  • Decentralized storage platform Filecoin added the ability to support smart contracts with its own virtual machine.

  • LQTY, the native token for borrowing protocol Liquity which issues the decentralized stablecoin LUSD, saw a 20% increase in price over the past 24 hours and a 500% increase since the start of the year.

  • MakerDAO is holding an emergency vote on a proposal to introduce a debt ceiling breaker for collateral assets used to mint its DAI stablecoin to prevent adverse impacts from market turbulence.

  • The European Parliament adopted the Data Act, which includes provisions on smart contracts.

  • Capsule, a startup that is building interoperable crypto wallet infrastructure, emerged from stealth with funding from a16z, Geometry, and others.
